CRPF Jawan, released by Naxals, reaches Home in Jammu
The CRPF Jawan, Rakeshwar Singh Manas, who was released by Naxals last week, after being abducted during the Bijapur Attack in Chattisgarh, arrived at his home on Friday.
Manas expressed his happiness on meeting his family. \"I am very happy that I am meeting my family today\", said Manas, who was a part of the Security Force\'s Elite CoBRA Unit. Manas was recieved with garlands, put around his neck, by the people, who welcomed him.
22 security personnel had achieved martyrdom and 31 suffered injuries, in a face-off that broke out between the security forces and the naxals along Chhattisgarh\'s Sukma-Bijapur Border, following an ambush by the Naxals near Jonnaguda village.
Manas was then abducted by the Naxals on April 3. He was later released on April 8. On Manas\' release, Meenu, his wife, had said, \"Today is the happiest day of my life. I always remained hopeful of his return. I am very thankful to the Government. His health condition is good.\"
