Tripura's Pagli Mashi passes away; devotees gather at Melaghar in large numbers

Pagli Mashi passed away at the age of 115 at Melaghar, Tripura.

Pagli Mashi a self proclaimed female deity, who is also known as Bosta Mashi, passed away on Wednesday, June 23, at the age of 115 at Melaghar, Tripura. It has been reported that Pagli Mashi died of old age. Large number of devotees were seen gathering around the Pagli Mashi Temple to mourn her death.

Pagli Mashi was worshipped by many devotees for more than 40 years. Many people also believed that whatever Pagli Mashi said would come true and due to this many people gradually started treating her like a goddess. It has also been reported that she used to live inside the 'Basta' or a 'sack' for more than 40 years without putting on any clothes with nails so long that they eventually coiled up like springs, and eating very little food and rarely. 

Further, with the news of her death circulating all over Tripura, it has been reported that many devotees gathered at Melaghar, Tripura, where Pagli Mashi lived. The devotees came forward to mourn her death and worship her for the last time.
