Around 1,000 participants from various states across India, participated in the week-long virtual Yoga championship organized by Niramaya School of Yoga in collaboration with Yoga Era and YOGA. The all India championship was organised in memory of Shri Tushar Deshamukhya, an ex-banker of the United Bank of India and resident of Narsingtola, Silchar.
The prize distribution ceremony was held on Monday, June 21, on the auspicious occasion of International Day of Yoga. Eminent personalities from different departments were invited to announce the winners from 12 different categories. To name a few, Assistant Professors from NIT Silchar, Dr Dipankar Bhanja and Dr Sujit Nath, Yoga Expert from Singapore, Adinath Chowdhury, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, IITRAM, AHMEDABAD, Dr Gautam Chaubey, Physician of Fortis Hospital, Dr Suvam Chowdhury, Editor of GATI, Manmohan Mishra Editor, Gati Dainik, Chairman of Niramaya School of Yoga, Dr Ajit Bhattacharjee, Yoga Objective Guideline Association's President Mr Uttom Mondol and Secretary, Mr Gauranga Sarkar delivered keynote speeches highlighting the importance of Yoga.
The event was held live on Facebook, with technical support provided by Yoga trainer, Mr Sanjiv Das of Karimganj. Mr Rahul Chakraborty hosted the show, which lasted for around 2 hours.
