A 20-year-old man named Deepak Kumar Saha drowned while bathing in the Barak River at Annapurna Ghat on Sunday, June 20. A search was conducted for Deepak on Sunday but no trace of him was found. Later on, Deepak's body was found floating from Annapurna Ghat on Monday. Police recovered the body and sent it to the Silchar Medical College and Hospital for autopsy.


Meanwhile, Putul Rikiyashon, a resident of Kashipur, went missing on Monday, June 21 while bathing in the Barak River. The incident took place in Kashipur Part II at around 4 PM. Witnesses reported that the 40-year-old man named Putul Rikiyashon went to take a bath in the Barak River after completing the funeral of a local. While bathing, he drowned in the river.


Upon receiving the news, the SDRF forces and Police of the Rongpur Police Outpost reached the spot and searched for Putul for several hours. However, they remained futile in their attempt to find him. Police sources informed that the operation will resume on Tuesday morning.
