June 18: 135 active COVID-19 patients in SMCH; 84 in ICU; 112 patients under oxygen support

Vice Principal of Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH), Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, on Friday (June 18), informed about the COVID-19 update of SMCH. Dr. Bhaskar Gupta stated that a total number of 135 active cases were reported till 5 PM on Friday (June 18). 

Dr. Bhaskar Gupta further stated that as on June 18, the total number of patients in ICU is 84, 51 patients are in the ward, 15 patients are under ventilators and 112 patients are under oxygen support. It has also been reported that a total number of 18 patients were admitted at SMCH in the last 24 hours and 4 patients got discharged in the same period.

The Vice Principal of SMCH further informed that in the last 24 hours, 3 deaths due to COVID-19 have been registered in SMCH. It has been reported that out of the 3 deceased, 2 were from Karimganj and 1 from Cachar. They were identified as :

Munni Lal Ree (70 years) from Dullabhcherra in Karimganj, who got admitted at SMCH on June 17, and succumbed to COVID-19 on June 17 at 8.50 PM.

Hashma Khannan Laskar (55 years) from Rongpur, Silchar, who got  admitted at SMCH on June 14 and succumbed to COVID-19 on June 18 at 12:15 AM.

Mashuk Ahmed  (75 years) from Ward no. 2 in Karimganj district, who got admitted at SMCH on June 14 and succumbed to COVID-19 on June 18 at 6 AM.
