An FIR has been registered against Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev on Wednesday night for allegedly spreading fake information against allopathic treatment used by the medical fraternity for curing Covid-19.
According to Raipur's Senior Superintendent of Police, a case was filed against the Yoga Guru by Chhattisgarh’s unit of the Indian Medical Association (IMA). Three Doctors, namely, Chairman of Hospital Board IMA (CG) Dr Rakesh Gupta, IMA’s Raipur President and Vikas Agrawal were the doctors involved in lodging the complaint.
According to 'The Hindu', Ramdev has been booked under Sections 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), 269 (negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and others of the IPC and provisions of Disaster Management Act, 2005.
Earlier, Rs 1000 Crore defamation notice was sent by IMA Uttarakhand to Swami Ramdev over his remark against allopathy and modern science.The notice demanded a video countering the statements made by Swami Ramdev and that he tender a written apology within the next 15 days, failing to which it said it will demand compensation of Rs 1000 crore from him.
