Popular Bengali actor Swatilekha Sengupta who starred in Bela Seshe opposite Soumitra Chatterjee died in a private hospital in Kolkata on Wednesday afternoon.
Sengupta was suffering from a Kidney disorder and passed away at around 3 PM as informed by her daughter Sohini.
The Bela Seshe actor is survived by her spouse Rudraprasad Sengupta, a legendary theatre activist and founder of Nandikar and daughter Sohini.
Moments after the actor's death, Tollywood actors took to Twitter to share the grief of the actor's death.

Actor Swatilekha Sengupta is a recipient of Sangeet Natak Academy Award. Talking about her mother's loss, Sohini who is also a popular theatre artist said "My mom was a great human being and artist. Her work will be remembered. She was a brilliant student and a gold medalist. She helped a lot of people too.,"
