June 14: 181 active COVID-19 patients in SMCH; 91 in ICU; 124 patients under oxygen support

181 active cases were reported till 5 pm on Monday (June 14).

Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, on Monday (June 14), informed about the COVID-19 update of SMCH.


Vice Principal of Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH), Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, on Monday (June 14), informed about the COVID-19 update of SMCH. Dr. Bhaskar Gupta stated that a total number of 181 active cases were reported till 5 pm on Monday (June 14). 


Dr. Bhaskar Gupta further stated that the total number of patients in ICU were 91; total number of 90 patients were in the ward; 21 patients were under ventilators and 124 patients were under oxygen support. It has also been reported that a total number of 21 patients were admitted at SMCH in the last 24 hours and 16 patients got discharged in the last 24 hours.


The Vice Principal of SMCH further informed that in the last 24 hours 3 deaths due to COVID-19 have been registered in SMCH. It has been reported that out of the 3 deceased, 2 were from the Cachar district and 1 from Hailakandi. They were identified as :


  1. Bhiru Nath (65 years) from Chenkuri Kanchanpur in Cachar got admitted at SMCH on June 9 and succumbed to COVID-19 on June 14 at 6 am.
  2. Bimal Kumar Das (75 years) from Rangirkhari, Silchar, got  admitted at SMCH on June 12 and succumbed to COVID-19 on June 14 at 9:30 am.
  3. Joy Narayan Satnami (61 years) from Manipur bazar in Hailakandi district, got admitted at SMCH on June 6 and succumbed to COVID-19 on June 14 at 5 pm.
