The District Administration of Cachar took to Facebook, on Saturday (June 12), to inform that Assam Targeted Surveillance Programme (ATSP) PHASE-III was launched today at Tukergram Village under Harinagar GP at Indo-Bangla border, in order to detect influenza like illness (ILI) and severe acute respiratory infections (SARI).
Tukergram is surrounded by River Kushiara on one side and with Barak River on the other side. The other two sides are landlocked by the International boundary of Bangladesh. It has been reported that Deputy Commissioner of Cachar, Keerthi Jalli, IAS along with Elded Fairem, CEO, Zilla Parishad; Dr. Bimal Jyoti Deb Sikdar, i/c Jt. Director of Health Services; Dr. Arun Deb Nath, SDM&HO cum Nodal Officer, ACSP; Rahul Ghose, DPM(NHM); Suman Choudhury, DME (NHM) and Ujjal Das, DCM(NHM) reached the Tukergram village by boat over the Kushiara River.
Further, Keerthi Jalli, IAS, roamed around the Tukergram village and interacted with the localities especially the women in order to motivate them to access the health services. She also listened to the problems faced by the localities in their day to day life and assured that she would try to solve them, as per her capacity. While inaugurating the drive, DC of Cachar also emphasised the localities on COVID-19 appropriate behaviours and vaccination. Apart from COVID-19 tests, the malaria tests, bed net impregnation and COVID-19 vaccination were also conducted at Tukergram village. It has also been reported that the DC of Cachar checked upon the Indo-Bangla border posts as well.
The District Administration of Cachar also informed that the camp was attended by Dr. Suman Bhowmic, Dr. Ratna Chakravarty, Dr. Biswarup Bhattacharjee along with the Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery (ANMs) and other paramedics. The camp arrangement was further led by Antara Paul, CO Kathigorah along with Burhanul Choudhury, BPM; Debajit Roy, BCM; Rana Goala, BAM, Jalalpur BPHC and Gulzar Hussain, BAM (Kalain CHC).
