IADVL - Barak Chapter hands over COVID relief material to the Principal of SMCH

The team was led by the vice principal of SMCH, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, in giving away the relief material.

The Vice Principal and Head of the Department of Dermatology at SMCH, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, along with other members of the Barak Chapter of Northeast Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists (IADVL), handed over a set of packages, containing essential medical items to the Principal of Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH), Dr. Babul Kumar Bezbaruah on Friday.

The packages consisted of N95 masks (200 pieces), Triple Layer Masks (1,500 pieces), PPE Kits (50 sets), Latex Gloves (20 boxes with 20 pairs in each box), Disposable bedsheets and pillows (50 sets) and 500 ml hand sanitisers (10 bottles). 

Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, in a conversation with The News Core said, "This minor contribution was given to the hospital on behalf of IADVL, in order to help the hospital administration in managing the COVID patients." In his message to the citizens, Dr. Gupta said, "All citizens should come forward and participate in this war against the pandemic. The participation can be of many ways, one may either help physically or financially. If all unite together and fight against COVID, we will definitely get over this pandemic very soon."

The Convenor and Editor-In-Chief, IADVL NRCC and Member, Barak Chapter of NE-IADVL, Dr. Kinnor Das said, "This initiative has been taken by the Northeast IADVL to contribute good quality medical materials in the medical colleges." Dr. Kinnor Das addressed the citizens and said, "We are together in this battle against COVID-19. We want common citizens to join us in this battle. If people can come up and ensure their support in such initiatives, it will certainly make the process of finding a passage out of the pandemic smoother."

In addition to Dr. Bhaskar Gupta and Dr. Kinnor Das, the other members of the Barak Chapter of IADVL, Dr. Debajit Das, Dr. Joydeep Roy, Dr. Arup Paul, Dr. Angshuman Bhattacharjee, Dr. Shahjubin Basir, Dr. Farhana Rahman and the Superintendent of SMCH, Dr. Abhijeet Swami were also present.

It should be mentioned here that the Northeast branch of Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists (IADVL), along with all its sub-branches or chapters, is giving away such COVID relief materials to the medical colleges in the entire Northeastern region.
