The second outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic has taken a terrible turn across the country. In that context, on Monday, June 7, Parimal Suklabaidya, Fisheries, Excise, Forest and Environment Minister of Assam, handed over relief items from his personal funds to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Borjalenga Mandal to distribute COVID affected families in Borjalenga Mandal.
In accordance, West Dholai ZP member Lakshmi Rani Yadav, along with BJP Borjalenga Mandal General secretary Sushanta Gupta, Bishnu Dayal Goala, District Yuva Morcha Media Incharge Mohitosh Tanti, BJP Cachar District Executive Member Dhrubo Bhattacharya, Borjalenga Mandal Yuva Morcha President Sujit Kumar Das, Samrat Chakraborty, Sudip Kumar, Santosh Rai reached to the COVID affected families of Derby GP and took stock of the COVID-19 appropriate behaviour.
In the absence of Minister Parimal Suklabaidya, who was attending the State Cabinet meeting in Dispur, member of West Dholai ZP Lakshmi Rani Yadav handed over relief items to COVID affected families. As per the direction, 45 families of Derby Gaon Panchayat and 15 families of Nayabil Gaon Panchayat received Ration kits including, Rice, Oil, Dal, Soya Bean, Hygienic Soap, Hand Sanitizers & Masks, duly maintaining COVID protocols.
Speaking on the occasion, West Dholai Zila Parishad Member Lakshmi Rani Yadav thanked Minister Parimal Suklabaidya for his initiative to distribute ration items to all the COVID-19 home isolated families under Borjalenga Mandal of the Dholai Assembly constituency.
She also added that, under his leadership the COVID-19 affected families in every Gaon Panchayat under Borjalenga Block Area received Emergency Relief items & Financial Assistance. She urged the people living in both Derby & Nayabil GP to abide by the rules and regulations, avoid leaving their houses unnecessarily and emphasised the importance of maintaining social distance and wearing of masks to keep the coronavirus at bay.
Maintaining COVID-19 protocols, the ZP member also interacted with the Tea Garden Management Committee and some workers who were engaged in tea plucking. She appreciated them for adhering to the lockdown guidelines and maintaining social distancing norms in the garden. She requested everyone to follow the health advisory and safety protocols strictly to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. She went on to add that, everyone must join the battle against the deadly virus and the only possible way is by following the Health Guidelines.
Later, she visited Irongmara COVID-19 Vaccination Centre to take stock of the situation and the process of vaccination. She also requested everyone to get their doses of COVID-19 vaccine as soon as possible. During her visit, Irongmara GP President Prabir Bhattacharjee, AP Member Subudh Das and others were present.
