The Minister of Education in Assam, Dr. Ranoj Pegu formally flagged off free textbook carrying vehicles for students of class 12 to all the districts from Assam State Textbooks Production and Publication Corporation Limited, complex at Bonda, Guwahati on Wednesday. It was informed in a press release, issued by Janasanyog, Assam.

The press release further informed that a total of 12,96,636 copies of books will be dispatched for the students of class 12 in 34 districts. Dr. Pegu ensured that the districts will receive the free textbooks as early as possible so that the students do not face any hurdle in their study process.

In addition to Dr. Pegu, other dignitaries who were present in the meeting are the Chairman of SEBA, R. C. Jain; the Director of Secondary Education, Phanindra Jidung; the Secretary of Assam Higher Secondary Council, Chandra Chutia; the Secretary of State Education Board of Assam (SEBA), Suranjana Senapati and the managing director of Assam State Textbooks Production and Publication Corporation Limited, Shah Nawaz Choudhury.
