Tweshaa Foundation, an NGO founded by a former Indian Army personnel, Gadadhar Chelleng, in association with his friends, launched "Free Food Supply Program" to cater the people in the remotest villages of Assam. In the first drive of the initiative, the NGO distributed ration kits to over 300 families in Maithong, Dirak, Assam, as claimed by the organisation in a Press Release.
Tweshaa Foundation has informed that each ration kit consists of rice, dal, oil, salt, potatoes, onions, soap, sanitary napkins and masks. It has also been reported that the foundation has been serving meals to the people under home isolation in Dibrugarh and Tinsukia districts.
The founder of Tweshaa Foundation, Gadadhar Chelleng said, "It is the time to join hands and do our part in this fight against the pandemic." He added, "While the country continues to battle against the virus, there are thousands of families who have lost their sources of income. Hunger is looming on such families, and our Food Supply Program has been launched to address that."
Tweshaa Foundation is a non-profit organisation, formed in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. "We have mobilized hundreds of volunteers who are in touch with Directors, Medical Superintendents or Administrative heads of government hospitals, private hospitals and nursing homes across Delhi NCR and the North East region", informed the foundation.
